A good Feng Shui bedroom is a bedroom that promotes a harmonious flow of nourishing and sensual energy. It is a bedroom that invites you, lures you in, excites and calms at the same time. A good Feng Shui bedroom is fun and pleasurable to be in, either you are there for a quick nap, a good night sleep or to make passionate love! In the Eight Mansions system, everyone of us has a Gua number that is calculated from our date of birth and sex. - Formula for Calculating Your Gua Number Add the last 2 digits of your Chinese year of birth based on the lunar calendar. If the sum is higher than 10, reduce to a single digit. For men, deduct this number from 10. For women, add this number to 5. If you get a 2 digit number, keep adding until you reduce it to a single digit. The result is your Gua Number. GUA NUMBER NIEN YEN LOCATION Strengthen the Southwest section of your home . According to the Feng Shui thought of Eight Life Aspirations, the Southwest section governs romance and marriage happiness. The element of Southwest is Earth. Activate that section with a pleasant decoration of small rocks or anything made from terra cotta or clay. Alternately, hang a picture of a mountain minus any water feature. Watch out for any poison arrows brought by the edges of pillars of furniture in your bedroom. These poison arrows bring harmful 'sha chi ' and will affect you, therefore affecting your relationship as well. Cover theoffending edges with a soft cloth or a potted plant. - If you are single and looking for love - hang a painting of peonies, the Chinese flower of love in your house or bedroom. Also, balance the Yin and Yang in your house . If you are male, display items or photos that represent the presence of females/Yin. If you are female, some images or displays that shows males/Yang will be beneficial. Also, be mindful of the bedroom environment and the sleeping taboos associated with it..... - Avoid sleeping with a mirror facing the bed directly - televisions, vanities, computers, mirrors - cover them with a piece of cloth when not in use. A mirror on the ceiling? Exotic, but not advisable. Besides wrecking relationships, the water element in the mirror attacks the heart, which is a fire element. This will bring about heart-related problems. - Avoid sleeping with a water feature behind the bed - A water element in the bedroom is not a good proposal. A painting or print of water-affiliated features such as waterfalls and lakes is bad enough, let alone the real thing in the form of aquariums and water-filled vases.
- Avoid sleeping on a waterbed - In this aspect, discard any romantic notions about sleeping on a waterbed. The element and stagnant water could cause urinary or bladder problems. - Try not to sleep under an exposed overhead beam - Artistic designers love this feature but it is a disastrous aspect in Feng Shui. The negative chi from the beam will attack whichever part it crosses the bed. For example, if the beam crosses above the head, then the person will experience frequent headaches and stress. If your bedroom has such a beam, either move your bed to other places or try to mask it with a false ceiling. - Never sleep with a sharp edge of a protruding corner pointed at you - Many modern bedrooms have problems of corners jutting out, resulting in fatal poison arrows ('sha chi '). The 'sha chi ' will bring lots of health problems. To remedy this error, camouflage the offending corner with a piece of furniture. - Avoid sleeping facing the door as the sha chi (killing breath) will be very strong and will cause problems in your relationship.
